I’m sure everyone has been the schemer or recipient of some fun April Fool’s Day prank on the first of April but have you ever heard of April Pools Day? April Pools Day is a new nationwide educational day to teach parents and children about pool and spa safety.
In a continued effort to educate our families and little Waterworks swimmers on important water safety skills, Waterworks will be extending April Pools Day for the whole first week of April. As part of your child’s regular lesson we will also teach one important water safety skill! Teachers will share this skill at the end of the lesson with parents so that kids and parents can talk about water safety at home.
There is a wealth of great information regarding safe pool and spa equipment, recalled products, educational tools for kids and more. To learn more about April Pools Day and to access the informational tools available to you click on http://www.poolsafely.gov/ . We are look forward to sharing this educational week with our Waterworks Families!

Waterworks will be welcoming all Cub Scouts for an Aquanaut Badge session next Wednesday March 23rd from 6pm-7pm. Scouts will work on a variety of water safety and swim skills to earn their badge. Some of the skills covered will include learning the four basic water rescue methods, swimming required distances of several swim strokes, diving, floating and swimming with sharp turns in the water.
Swimming goes beyond the basic pool, and these skills are important when swimming in more challenging environments such as an ocean or lake. We are excited to be able to share these important swimming skills and rescue methods that will help these boys be more competent in the water and as well as providing the knowledge needed for basic water safety.
If you would like more information or would like to register please call us at 949-450-077. For more information on the skills covered you can click on http://meritbadge.org/wiki/index.php/Aquanaut

Water safety and education is important to us at Waterworks Aquatics. In an effort to further educate children beyond the common swim lesson we are excited to offer our Boy Scout Swimming Merit Badge Program. In this program Boy Scouts learn to prevent and treat accidents around the water. We also work on introducing and improving the technique of all competitive swimming strokes.
Our next Swimming Merit Badge session will be next Friday, March 11th from 4pm to 6pm. This event is open to all Boy Scouts so you do not need be part of a troop to participate! Participants will need to bring a t-shirt, pants, and shoes as you will be required to jump into the water while wearing them. Other suggested accessories you may want to bring are a swim suit, goggles, towel, snack and water. To sign up or for more information please feel free to speak with one of our customer service representatives at 949-450-0777. We look forward to a fun and educational afternoon!
