Waterworks Aquatics, a premier Swim School and Aquatic Center, hosted their 10 Year Anniversary and Water Safety Day event this past Sunday, June 1st. Waterworks Aquatics celebrated this event with a petting zoo, several large bounce houses, face painting, Disney Frozen princesses, balloon artists,  free swim, live music, carnival games, a dunk tank, and more! A mock drowning scenario was also organized by both Waterworks Aquatics and the Orange County Fire Department which helped show how important the skill of swimming truly is. The mock drowning was extremely impactful by the hundreds of spectators with the presence of 2 ambulances and a Fire Engine assisting.  “Drowning is a risk that can never be eliminated. It can be managed by having someone in charge at all times watching the swimmer, securing the fence and doors to the pool, taking swim lessons and by having the parents CPR certified” said owner, Jon Alpert.

Waterworks Aquatics was extremely happy to open their doors for the entire community as an estimated 1,000 people were in attendance for the event. In celebration, Waterworks Aquatics also raffled off a 10 lesson swim package to 1 lucky attendee. With being in business for over 10 years, Waterworks Aquatics wanted this celebration to be magical and special for all the families and friends that were in attendance. Owner, Jon Alpert said, “We wanted this event to be unlike anything else we have ever done and use our entire facility both inside and outside to accommodate all of the activities.”

As summer is approaching quickly, Waterworks Aquatics wanted this Anniversary Celebration and Water Safety Event to be the ultimate way to kick-off the summer. The event was an overall success in Waterworks Aquatics eyes as smiles were seen on everyone’s faces throughout the hot summer day.

Waterworks Aquatics to Open Swim School in Pasadena

May 3, 2013

Waterworks Aquatics, Orange County’s number one Swim School and Aquatics Center,  is proud to present itself to the City of Pasadena and all of  the San Gabriel Valley with a newly built 8,700 square foot indoor swim facility.  The company is scheduled to open its new state-of-the-art indoor swim facility on May 15th.

California is one of 10 states in which drowning is the leading cause of death for children under 15 years of age.  In an effort to reduce this statistic and promote water safety, Waterworks Aquatics teaches more than 5,000 children to swim each year at its Orange County location.  The new Pasadena location will provide an additional venue where its successes can be shared in the Los Angeles County area by providing swimming lessons year round. Classes are offered in two pools, a lap pool heated to 89 degrees and the teaching pool heated to 92 degrees for children and adults ages three months and older.

Waterworks Aquatics provides Private, Semi-Private, Parent and Me, Adult and Stroke Clinic swim classes. It will also offer youth swim teams, summer swim camps, lap swimming, and a venue for birthday parties as well as facilitating aquatic therapy.

“The teaching methodology at Waterworks Aquatics is what differentiates us from other swim schools,” said Jon Alpert, founder of Waterworks Aquatics. “We utilize an original instructional philosophy of teaching children to roll to their back for a breath rather than lifting their heads to breathe, which allows children as young as 18 months the capability to swim across the pool. The other key component is the use of a specialized muscle memory teaching technique, where students are taught stroke technique at a very young age.”

With a commitment to “Learning it the Right Way, Right from the Beginning”, Waterworks Aquatics was voted the best swim school in Orange County in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 by the readers of Parenting OC Magazine.

Waterworks Aquatics is running a grand opening special of 20% off swim lesson packages as well as up to 4 free additional lessons.

For more information or to register for classes, please visit www.waterworksswim.com/Pasadena  or call 626.836.1200.

Swim Team Now Practicing in our Heated Outdoor Pool!

April 7, 2010

Spring is upon us! With the warmer weather and the sun setting later we have decided to give our swim team more room by moving their practice to our heated outdoor pool. Our teams can now enjoy a more spacious environment to focus on their swimming while having fun practicing. Teams enjoy working on speed, conditioning and stroke refinement.

Waterworks has two teams based on age.  Our Silver Team is for children 5-8 years old and they meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 4-4:40pm. Our Gold Team is for children 9 years and older and their practice is Monday through Thursday 6-7pm. If your child would like to join our team and you are currently enrolled for lessons, please ask their instructor if they are capable. If you are new to the facility we will ask the student to take a short swim test prior to registration at anytime during our business hours.  For more information please feel free to check out our website or speak to a customer service representative.

Warmer weather is in the air!  For those of you who enjoy taking advantage of Southern California’s pleasant weather by swimming outdoors, Waterworks is excited to inform you that we have reopened the outdoor pool!  The pool has been drained, scrubbed and filled with new water for the new of season.  Already many lap swimmers have moved to the outdoor pool to enjoy the sun.  I have seen several swimmers use our outdoor pool and enjoying the Orange County sun by relaxing in our lounge chairs after their work out.  Starting April 1st our swim teams will also move outdoors meaning swim team supporters can choose to watch their swimmers while soaking up the sun or from comfort of the shaded areas. The opening of the outdoor pool also gives swimmers more space to swim and learn.

The April swim competitions return to the outdoor pool!
