Waterworks has had an exciting week!
We completed our last Swim Competition for the month of July and we had our largest attendance so far this year. Out of the 162 participants, 64 competed for the first time. We awarded 13 trophies and had 2 star swimmers break our current pool records.
Our first ever Turbo Croc Charm Counting Contest has commenced. All children ages 3 and older can guess how many Turbos are swimming in our jar. Stop by the front desk to submit your guess. Winners will receive a free Dippin’ Dots and a dive in our Treasure Chest.
Waterworks Aquatics is joining the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for their Light the Night walk on September 17th. You can help support our team by joining or by donating to this worthy cause. If you donate a dollar you can put your name on a paper balloon that will be displayed in our front office until the day of the walk.
Next week will be our sixth week of Swim Camp! Mr. Alan loves seeing his students develop their stroke technique as they progress through the week. Everyone’s favorite day is Friday when all of the campers get to enjoy a snow-cone and an extended time of free play!
Every week each student puts in hard work to perfect their swim skills and the parents sit and watch as their children make progress. Now it’s time for the instructors to show off their swimming skills. Mark your calendars for August 6th when our instructors will compete against one another in our Instructor Race after the Swim Competition. Encourage your teachers to participate and come out to cheer them on!
We hope you all enjoy your weekend!
Waterworks is excited to announce that this Saturday’s (March 5th) Swim Meet will end with a Gold Dollar Coin Toss! For those of you who haven’t been to a swim meet, we always end the competition with our popular Coin Toss. Swim meet participants get to jump in the pool, and gather what they can. All coins the children find, they get to take home. We are grateful to Nuvision Federal for sponsoring this Coin Toss on and giving the children something extra special. The weekend’s meet will start at 12pm and will go until approximately 2pm. To register please click on http://waterworksswimonline.com We hope to see you there!

Several pool records were broken at Waterwork’s Swim Meet this past Saturday October 9th! Henry Horvath recorded a 2nd place time for the boys 3-4 years old 25 yard Butterfly, and Thomas Fitt beat the 3rd place boys 7-8 years old 25 yard Butterfly time.

Don’t miss signing up for our next Swim Meet this Saturday October 9th! Parents have told us how swim meets have built their child’s confidence and helped them become more motivated when attending their swim classes. Our competitions are always fun and everyone is encouraging by cheering on all participants. Lifeguards are also ready to assist any child across the pool so that they can feel the accomplishment of completing their first race! Every child gets a ribbon so everyone leaves a winner!
We will be firing up our grill with tasty treats such as hot dogs, hamburgers and mesquite chicken sandwiches to make the event fun for the whole family. Registration is open to all children who can swim the length of a 25 yard pool. To register click on www.waterworksswimonline.com.
Congratulations to Julia Collin, Ryan Hatcher, Sydney Flashman, Michelle Tekawy, and Ethan Diedricks for breaking some of our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Pool Record Times at our Swim Competition last Saturday September 11th! Keep up the great work!
All 108 children participating gave their best effort and we were happy to present 23 children with Outstanding Participation Trophies.
We also wanted to thank all those who helped us raise money to donate to the Firefighters Relief Fund by purchasing a Waterworks T-shirt, 100% of which was donated, or by purchasing at our snack shop of which 20% was donated to this charity. We were happy to be able to honor Firefighters and their hard work in our communities on this day of remembrance.
